Oh, hey, my name is Kent C. Dodds, and I want you to get your application where the users are. And where the users are, they're like fleeing the browser and going over to applications like ChatGPT and Cloud Desktop. And if your users are developers, they're using Cursor and Windsurf and VS Code. And the more and more we integrate our experience with these environments, the less and less our users want to be in the browser.

And the reason is the user experience is so much better. I can use natural language to just tell the thing what I want to learn about or what I want to do. And then the thing can do the thing that can do what I asked it to do, even if it's a complicated test that requires multiple services to integrate. And so what's really cool about this experience is that we now have the capability of doing this at scale with any number of services because of something called the model context protocol or MCP. This was introduced by Anthropic a while ago and it's now being adopted by OpenAI and Google.

So it's a very serious standard that we can now rely on and build applications around to get our application and our services into the environment and the context that our users want to be in. So whether that is loading context into that environment so the LLM can make more intelligent generations of tokens, or actual actions that can be performed, and mutations on our database for that user's information. Very exciting stuff and I want to teach you how to do that with hands on the keyboard. So this workshop is going to be very practical and if you've ever been through one of my Epic workshops before, you know that it's a very hands on the keyboard experience in the environment you're comfortable with, with whatever editor you're used to using. If you've not been through one of these before, well, you are in for a real treat.

And go ask somebody who has. They have a really good experience. So I'm very excited to take you on this journey with me, learning about model context protocol. Look forward to seeing you there. Ciao.
